Rachel Ritchford received an MFA from the School of The Art Institute of Chicago and BFA from Herron School of Art. She has attended residencies at Yale University School of Art in Norfolk, CT; Chashama in NYC; MULTIPOINT International Art Symposium in Nitra, Slovakia; and the Beagle Symposium in Amsterdam. She has been the recipient of numerous awards including a Dedalus Foundation Fellowship, SAIC MFA Graduate Grant, Union League Civic & Arts Foundation Award, the Ellen Batell Stoeckel Fellowship, and a full tuition Trustee Scholarship from SAIC.
Recent exhibitions in 2016 include Outside Curated by Jeremy Gilbert-Rolfe, MiM Gallery, Los Angeles; Rachel Ritchford: New Paintings, The Yard, Brooklyn; Expats, The Indianapolis Art Center; and East Meets West (with Rebecca Norton and Julika Lackner), TW Fine Art, Brisbane, Australia.
Rachel was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. After 8 years in New York she now lives in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
